TREATMENTS
The Tanzania Albino Center (TAC) in Arusha works in
conjunction with its partner organizations to
realize its vision of securing a safe and nurturing
environment for albino children.
Stichting Afrikaanse Albino in the Netherlands:
already involved in Malawi and other west
African countries, is our main partner in a project
to establish a sun-block (sun cream) production
factory that will initially produce sun cream for
albinos in the Moshi, Kilimanjaro, and Arusha
region. It is hoped that this factory, the first
project of its kind not only in Tanzania but also in
East Africa, will eventually produce sun cream for
thousands of albinos throughout the country. While
Stichting Afrikaanse Albino will provide TAC with
the staff and training needed to produce the sun
cream, TAC is currently seeking additional partners
to build the factory

Assisting Children in Need (ACN): in the United States has become our newest partner.
ACN is raising funds to expand the center's
dormitory, which accommodates 82 children in a space
originally planned for 18, and also hopes to address
the medical, vocational, and counseling n eeds of the
albino children who are coming to TAC for protection
from those who would slaughter them for their limbs.
ACN (www.assistingchildreninneed.com)
is a nonprofit organization that helps children of
all ages to not only have a home, but also access to
education, medical care, counseling, and the
vocational preparation necessary for them to grow
into self-reliant adults. In promoting self-reliance
and self-care rather than welfare, ACN supports
training programs that help older teenagers acquire
the independent living skills and vocational
training they will need to become productive members
of their respective communities.
Cordaid: in the Netherlands provide
fund for education for 38 albino in Moshi
Kilimanjaro. Many albino wish to continue with
education. In Tanzania for example there is two year
secondary school program which allow those who
didn't have that privilege and adult to accomplish
their education. We are still seeking partner to
support many albino as we can. The outcome of this
project will enable the albinos to find payable
jobs, or establish their own business in future, and
to retain respect from the community where they
live, instead of being beggars.
